Youth do not feel like they were welcomed or that they belonged within their own community. Many had the impression that older community members had negative connotations towards them.

How This Project Works

YETI aims to engage youth-led events to reduce crime prevention and promote drug and alcohol free events. YETI provides opportunities for a youth-led volunteer team to develop and deliver events for youth, specifically 18-25 year olds, as well as impacting the whole of community.

Summary

YETI aims yo develop and implement community events that encourage engagement in a safe and enjoyable environment for young people. YETI encourages the colloboration between community organisations, businesses and local stakeholders. YETI also focuses on promoting a culture of inclusion, diversity and pro-social behaviour. This program run by youth for youth, aims to provide skills and capacity building for young people in event coordination.
