With greater dementia awareness, communities can grow into dementia-friendly cities—places where knowledge, empathy, and support help people living with dementia feel seen, valued, and included.

Summary

These Hands is a photographic project raising awareness about dementia and the experiences of people living with dementia. Inspired by other similar projects, These Hands invites community members living with early onset dementia to have a photo of their hands taken, and to anonymously share the stories about their life. The stories told through the photography and their words, remind us of the dignity and humanity behind each diagnosis.
