Social Issue/Problem

Lack of access to child safe seats and how to have them installed for families at risk in the Bundaberg region

Solution

Training of community services staff in accredited child safety seat installation and provision of free installation services to Bundaberg families. Access to affordable child seat hire also provided.

Outcome

134 seats were installed safely for families at risk with 312 referrals made to further services to link families with supports and 21 Emergency Relief supports. The service remains available to community.
