Increases in DFV in the Hervey Bay area and need to more non-crisis DFV supports.
Solution
Women’s Cultural Healing Camps specifically to engage Indigenous women who have experienced domestic and family violence and other traumas in culturally appropriate activities aimed at improving wellbeing and increasing knowledge and awareness around healthy relationships.
Outcome
4 Cultural Healing Camps were held with 81 women participating. 60% of women reported improved cultural connection & knowledge after attending as well as increased awareness around DFV supports available to them. 60% of women also experienced an improvement in self-confidence and knowledge, improved skills around healthy relationships, and improved self-care skills.
