Poor mental health statistics among youth LGBTI+ community members.
Solution
Engaging LGBTI+ youth in Bundaberg in Queer Comic Writing workshops designed to promote empowerment and self-acceptance. Participants work with facilitators to write their stories as comics exploring their identity and boosting self-esteem. Completed works were then showcased to the wider community in an exhibition designed to promote de-stigmatisation.
