Need for youth at risk programs preventing contact with the justice system and building confidence to engage in employment and education/training.
Solution
Delivery of 10-week JTYouGotThis Youth Programs to young people at risk 11-17 years old. The program engages youth in activities building self-belief, leadership skills, teamwork, confidence and personal planning and goal setting.
Outcome
4x 10-week programs were delivered in Hervey Bay to 93 youth. A 4 day intensive school holiday program was also delivered to 10 youth. 80% of participants achieved life goals set in the program, 85% increased in confidence and 90% improved in engagement with education and schooling.
