Training options for youth in alternative employment pathways such as setting up their own businesses and the entertainment industry.
Solution
Delivery of the BEATS- Business, Entrepreneurial and Technical Skills for the music industry program. The program engaged hard to reach youth aged 10-17 years old as well as young job seekers to learn skills for the music industry in production, pod casting, radio and business management with the aim of building confidence and self-esteem. Musical genres feature strong lyrical focus including rap and hip-hop and provide a safe space for youth to express social and personal difficulties.
Outcome
The BEATS Program had 248 attendances by 15 participants. 70% of participants completed the program successful and 70% improved across all life domains throughout the program. They learnt photography & videography and production skills along the way, producing their own music video linked below.
