The establishment of specialised legal advocacy clinics providing free, dedicated support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence who are at risk of entering the child protection system or require early intervention support while navigating child protection processes in the Bundaberg region.
Solution
Supports will include:
- One-on-one legal consultations with experienced child protection and DFV lawyers
- Detailed process mapping of the child protection system
- Practical advocacy support for engaging with child protection officers
- Evidence gathering and documentation guidance
- Education about child protection powers and processes
- Support for understanding and exercising legal rights while maintaining a focus on children’s best interests
