Pop Up Health Clinic

Community Challenge
The Pop Up Clinic is a bi-annual project (Christmas – New Year & June/July Fly Season) aimed at promoting health awareness and connection to local services including those not covered by Medicare.
How This Project Works
The Pop-Up Health Clinic is grounded in the belief that healthcare is a human right and that access should never be determined by income, timing, or circumstance.
By combining immediate health support with pathways to ongoing care, we reduce crisis presentations and build long-term wellbeing. Through collaboration with local clinicians and community partners, we remove barriers, restore choice, and strengthen connection. Our philosophy is simple: early care prevents deeper harm, and when communities care together, health outcomes improve for everyone
Summary
The Pop-Up Health Clinic is designed to remove barriers that prevent people from accessing healthcare, particularly cost, transport, stigma, and service availability during peak need periods such as Christmas.
The clinic is delivered in a familiar, trusted community space and aligned with existing services like community meals to reach people already experiencing financial hardship or homelessness. Services prioritise those unable to access or afford care, especially where services fall outside Medicare coverage.
