How This Project Works
Meet the Neighbours is an initiative creating connected communities through hosting a number of neighbourhood park events each fortnight across the region. Our organisation supplied a trailer with large outdoor games to engage community members and their families, while also raising awareness of support services available.
Summary
Community centres can extend their reach by bringing services and supports directly into local neighbourhoods, connecting with people who might not otherwise visit our centres. At its heart, the initiative recognizes that many individuals experience social isolation, often living side by side without truly knowing those around them. By creating opportunities for neighbours to meet, share, and engage, Meet The Neighbours helps break down barriers, reduce loneliness, and build a stronger sense of belonging.
The goal for this initiative is not only to increase awareness of local supports but also to nurture meaningful relationships that strengthen the fabric of the community.
