Community Challenge
A lack of basic cooking skills and food nutrition knowledge are significant barriers to families health. Providing a simple, 4-week program, people can learn basic skills and increase their confidence in the kitchen to create nutritionally sound meals.
How This Project Works
The Creative Kitchens Program (CK) is a program open to all community members with a strong focus on delivering basic cooking lessons to people who are lacking the skills and inspiration to create nutritionally sound meals.
Summary
Creative Kitchens aims to increase the cooking skills and confidence of community members through fun, interactive cooking experiences. The focus is on promoting the joy that can be found in the kitchen when you involve the family and discover a variety of ingredients and creative cooking techniques. It is our belief that building skills and confidence in the kitchen will promote healthier lifestyles which will in turn have a positive effect on the overall health of our community, through lower obesity rates, raised nutritional content of meals being prepared for children and the strengthening of relationships by positive interactions in the kitchen.
