Many public spaces in the CBD lack identity, cultural expression, and visual storytelling. The community has few places where local stories, histories, and creative voices are visible in shared public environments.

How This Project Works

This project celebrates local culture, creativity, and identity while supporting the revitalisation of the new City Park precinct – connecting the Cultural Centre, the new Library, and the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre.

Through a yearly creation festival, local selected artists produce new murals in public view to activate a public space with colour, creativity and life.

Summary

City Park Murals creates a walkable outdoor art gallery which revitalises community spaces and offers a year-round attraction that celebrates cultural expression, local identity, and visual storytelling through creative voices that are deeply connected to the community.
